You usually only want your entire home county minus the city and church and then just the capital of other counties. If you're Feudal, you can only hold Castles If you want to have a whole duchy I still wouldn't quite suggest that. You don't want to hold every holding because of wrong holding penalties. OFC your realm-laws need to allow the revocation of titles.
Or you just do it and live with an opinion modifier for revoking without cause for a while.
Outside the capital duchy you have to wait until the count does something that allows you to arrest him and then hope the arrest fails so he rebells, after wich you can revoke his county. That doesnt even invoke a tyranny-opinion malus. To get every county in your capital duchy is relatively easy, you can always start a plot to revoke counties in your capital duchy, once that hits a certain plot-power you get an intrigue decision to do so, usually the count will rebell against this, so beat him and take the county. Holding more then one castle in a county also only really makes sense in your capital county since you get boni there for it being the capital and usually having your steward and marshall working there collecting taxes and raising troops. My goal is to have my own duchy in wich i own all the buildings in it. I have many hours in this game but the thing i can't grasp is how to increase my demesne without conquering new territory.īut i'm always struggling with troops and money.
